We'll be in Paris in two weeks for 6 days. This was a last minute trip (going to present at a conference, then staying afterwards). Have done my homework, here and at JT's site, and have most of our choices and reservations done (anniversary splurge dinner at Guy Savoy, plus Gare au Gorille dinners, plus AG Les Halles and probably Papillon lunches).
We're staying in the 3rd, very close to 134 rdt, and I'm trying to decide on one or two weekend dinners relatively nearby. Went to Pierre Sang Oberkampf last year, great value and I liked very much, but it wasn't a must-return. I've found I like most of JT's choices. However, neither of us really does offal, and my wife is on the less adventurous side, so having choices a good thing.
That said, please rank the following - and the more commentary, the better - for one or perhaps two dinners.
- Le Clown Bar
- Les Enfant Rouges
- Pierre Sang-Gambey
Right now, I lean slightly to Clown Bar on top, but don't have a strong opinion after that. JT raved about Les Enfant Rouges, and I think it's the kind of place that would work well for my wife, but I've not seen a lot about it from him - or anyone else - in the last year, so not sure if it's still as good as it clearly seemed to be a couple years ago. For that matter, other than Pierre Sang, I don't find much recent (last 12 months) on any of them.
