Ramen at Santa

hamachihil | Oct 4, 2005 12:44 AM

Finally made it to San Mateo at lunch time to try the much lauded ramen at Santa. On the service end, although the lone waitress and bus person were both very solititous, I ordered at 1:30 and was not served until 2pm! For a bowl of noodle soup! However, I have to say that it was well worth the wait. I got the Roast pork with soy bean broth. It really was heavenly. I could have drunk galllons of the rich and salty broth- I'm sure next time I have a cold it will be the only thing i'll want to injest. And the pork slices were tender and flavorful with just enough fat and the noodles were just the right texture and did not get mushy even tho it took me about 20 mins to finish the bowl. So I know never to go in hurry and perhaps will even try a different type next time. there was an intriguing seaweed and citus peel combo- anyone tried that one?
