I am looking to include more vegetables in my diet and at the same time break out of my steamed broccoli rut. Saw a recipe online for radishes (red not Asian) parboiled, halved, then sauteed in butter with a little brown sugar. What a delight! They were a pretty pale pink, nearly sweet, and tasted a little like turnip. I will definitely make them again.
That success prompted me to locate a sauteed, sliced cucumber with dill recipe I haven't done in ages. What other items typically consumed raw make interesting cooked vegetables?
