After reading the last post on Radicchio we decided to give it a try. OMG...what a great find! We arrived yesterday at 7:00 and the restaurant was pretty empty (when we left at 9:00 it was full).
The servers were very gracious. They did offer bottled water but brought tap as requested. They brought nice crusty bread as well as some bruchetta. We also ordered the two types of bruchetta on the menu. They were both great.
Most of us had the dover sole which at $20 is a real bargain. It was perfectly prepared and filleted tableside. It was served with a side of potatoes and sauted baby artichokes. We also shared the pasta of the day which was homemade spinach fettuchini with shrimp, scallops, shittakes in a rose sauce. It was excellent.
For dessert they had homemade gelato. We had the hazelnut and the chocolate with hazelnuts which were the only flavors available. It was the best we have had outside of Italy. Yes, we have been to Capagiro on 13th. The tiramisu was only ok.
The only negative is the noise level. It wasn't terrible, we were able to converse, but it would probably be pretty bad at prime time.
