Rachels in Park Slope

Yup another restaurant. Have to say that eons ago, my little heart went pitter patter when I heard that we were getting another taco place- in my mind, you can't have too many...and since Mexcals' doesn't count..
They finally opened to zero fan fair...
Good points- Backyard. Clean. Reasonably priced. Variety- especially if you are into burritos.
Bad Points- simply not great food. No interesting drinks- ie Horchata. Menu is so physically large, you have to walk up and down the restaurant to read it.
They have a brown type of rice- only my 11 year old liked it- which is really surprising. One night, black beans were undercooked. Kidney beans are almost refried- lumpy. Carnitas were terribly greasy. Crispy taco was simply a fried tortilla- not puffy or flaky/crunchy.
Rotisserie chicken was interesting- not dry. Would probably go back for this.
Hot sauces bland.
This place is ok for a quick take out taco or chicken- but skip the platters...
