Quick Review - Cafe Infusion near Metreon in SOMA

KL | Apr 14, 2006 02:12 AM

Stopped by a relatively new place in the area called Cafe Infusion for a quick bite. It is on Mission between 4th and 5th near the Metreon, two stores down from Mel's Diner.

Summary: Woth returning for their sandwiches and smoothies. Cafe style, sandwiches, soup and salad, desserts , bubble tea, beer and cocktails served.

I had the Pastrami and Swiss while my friend had the Teriyaki Chicken and Pineapple sandwich. It is a pressed style sandwich aand the overall taste is quite good, I really like the bread. For a sandwich in the $7 range I thought it is a good bargain.

While I was there they were prepping a platter of portabello mushrooms for their Roasted Veg Pizza which looked quite good. I had a iced milk tea (a little sweet for my taste, but I like my tea stronger than most people) and I noticed they serve beer and soju also.

They also serve various bubble teas, smoothies, and a decent gelato selection as well as cakes.

While I was there they had live music from local musicians (looks like regularly Thurs and Sat nite).

Overall Conclusion: Tare open till 10pm on Monday to Thurs and Midnite Fri and Sat. Good place to swing by for a bubble tea and a snack either early in a evening before the party or after the party. Especially good if you have people in a group who wants a beer and some who want non-alcoholic drinks. For the location and convenience I would go back there for lunch to try some of their other dishes
