I was driving through Newmarket Square yesterday, so I decided to take a quick side trip to the Pacific Restaurant, a new Chinese place on Bradston Street (parallel to the on-ramp/off-ramp between the Expressway and Newmarket Square).
I parked outside of the huge garage that is part of their building (free parking, by the way), found the entrance (which really looked like a staircase for the parking garage) and walked into the building, following the handmade signs for the restaurant. After maybe two or three flights of stairs, I got to the entrance, walked in, and was treated to a HUUUUUGE dining area with nice views of the surrounding area from the many windows lined along the walls. There was no one in the place at all except for what must have been an owner/manager about 100 feet away. He came over and I asked him for a takeout menu. He said he didn't really have one, but gave me one from a place called Jade Pacific in Billerica, and said the menu would be similar (by the way, the "Jade" was crossed off the menu, making it simply "Pacific").
I then left to pick up my GF, and we were tempted to go there that night for dinner, but made a last-minute change, heading back up to All Seasons Table in Malden, instead). I think I want to wait a few weeks to hear about what others have to say about Pacific Restaurant before going. Plus, I wasn't thrilled about being in a restaurant the size of a football field that had no other diners in it.
Has anyone been yet?
