question about tishpishti

heidipie | Apr 11, 2004 12:39 AM

I googled tishpishti, looking for variations on the recipe (turns out the one in Joyce Goldstein's "Sephardic Cooking" is a knockout, and will now be my annual seder cake), and one source said the name means "someone peed on the table" in Yiddish. But it wasn't mentioned anywhere else. Can anyone confirm or deny?
