HELP! A question about European vs. American COFFEE

Peppa | Jul 1, 2005 10:37 AM

I like the average cafe au lait that you can get in most restaurants/cafes in Paris.

I was wondering, does French coffee (which I think is based on espresso) -- does it have MORE or LESS CAFFEINE than an average American cup of coffee (which is usually a Columbian roast)?

My Italian husband seems to think that American coffee is much more caffeinated, and he says that has alot to do with how it is brewed vs. espresso.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING TO CLEAR UP MY CONFUSION!
