I had lunch at Quality Food and Beverage on 3rd Street. I got the salmon with hummus pesto, actual steamed vegetables, and brown rice. A virtuous lunch it was, and cost-effective at ten bucks. The hummus pesto was an interesting concept, but the proportions weren't right -- too much hummus, not enough pesto. Kind of drowned out the fish. Still it was worth it. You have to like Sinatra though.
I also got a very good prune bear claw (they called it a danish) at B&L Bakery (3rd and San Vicente) and a small apple pie from Joan's on 3rd that was good but not worth $4.50.
