Last weekend I made a pit stop at Q's Halal Mediterranean in Vallejo for a quick dinner and a break from driving in the rain storm. This location has been open for 10 months. I'd been enjoyed the Richmond branch that has pizza as well as the regular menu on 9/11 a couple years ago. https://www.chowhound.com/post/qs-hal...
The Beef-lamb gyro, $9, ordered spicy built up in heat to be nose-running hot by the time I got to the end. Nice fluffy pita bread. Layers of intense flavor from the sausage-like meat seared on the grill, tzatziki, chutney and hot sauce was complimented by lots of cool crunch from romaine lettuce and cucumbers.
Friendly employees, fresh food, self-serve water with cucumber, and a clean restroom made for a pleasant experience and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.
The new Vacaville location is supposed to open this weekend.
