Pyung Chang Tofu House and Yemeni grocery | Jan 29, 2002 04:32 PM

I enjoyed my visit to Pyung Chang (4701 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland) & will return.
I noticed the young Korean (?) women at the next table
asking each for an egg, which they cracked and dropped in their bubbling tofu soups. I then noticed the big bowl of eggs in the refrigerator case. I'll ask for my own egg next time.
Visitors to Pyung Chang might have a look at the
Arabic grocery in the same block. The owners are Yemeni, I think, and I saw there a number of foods I
hadn't remembered seeing in other Middle Eastern groceries. They were still open after 9 P.M. the night
I was there.
