Pumpkin Pies

stormin norman | Oct 24, 2005 02:10 PM

Based on the Chowhounds glowing recs,I tryed the pumpkin pie at The Filling Station in Orange in preparation for Thanksgiving ....can never do enough advance scouting.Sorry to say but my wife and I were less then thrilled. The pie was deep and heavy, which is a plus if you like your pies that way....the filling, although very pumpkiny, was very mild and almost bland,in a babyfoodish sort of way.It definitely needed some spice and flavor. The crust was also very heavy, though not dry.All in all,not a bad pie,but not the stellar one as promised. Will probably keep searching for that superior PP.Any sugestions in OC or LA.
