Puerto Rican or Dominican Food in the Bay?

NaNKings | May 15, 2006 02:39 PM

Hey folks,

I'm looking for either Puerto Rican or Dominican restaurants in the Bay Area and preferably close to SF or Oakland.

Yesterday the Lady and I took her Mother and Grandmother to El Coqui in Antioch and I was very impressed. Every plate was excellent and very authentic speaking from the point of view of someone whose just moved to the Bay after living 11 years in Spanish Harlem, NYC. I know that the Bay is lacking in Caribbean food in general (I have yet to find a decent Jamaican or West Indian Eatery as well.) but I was hoping that there would at least be a small representation of Latin Carribbean food. Antioch is just too far for times when the crave strikes. I want Mofongo and I want it now...hah!

Any leads would be much appreciated. Thanks all.
