Puddingstone Inn, Chester

We did not have a good experience here. I was remembering Larison's Turkey Farm, which was a kitchy, old-fashioned comfort food joint. Puddingstone Inn has taken over that space. Don't waste a trip. The decor is still the old antiquey, Larison's flavor, but the dining experience leaves much to be desired.

We ordered drinks, and one of our beers came warm. So we sent it back, only to get another warm one. Hmm.

We ordered dinner, and two of the entrees were not as ordered; one because of special instructions (no sauce), and one was a totally different dish than ordered. When brought to the server's attention, the reply was "That's what you ordered!". The server, by the way, had not written down one thing when we ordered. We are all in restaurant-related businesses, and, believe me, we know what we ordered.

The food was okay, but not what we'd expected from the owner of Sally Lund's. And there were too many mistakes in service. We watched the server talk to the bartender for 10 minutes, while we were trying to get her attention to order a bottle of wine. Forget it. We drank our beers and got out of there, never to return.
