Proposed SECOND ' Live Wild BC Spot Prawns ' Chowmeet at "The Emperor" - Thursday, 6th June!!

A short while back, I made a brief remark on this board saying that, in light of the huge success of the previous two chowmeets at Maple Yip and O 'Mei, I will be contemplating a similar follow-up dinner gathering, when the annual BC wild Spot Prawns season arrives. With the season already started and currently in full swing, I am issuing this '2nd' Chowmeet Clarion Call! ( First one on 28th May already 95% filled )

WHERE: 'The Emperor Fine Chinese Cuisine', 9019 Bayview Avenue, Richmond Hill.

TIME & DATE: 7.00 pm,Thursday 6th June, 2013.

CHOW-THEME: 10 course Pre-arranged Chinese Tasting Menu with Live Wild BC Spot Prawns as the Star and other off-menu items.


) Peking Duck 2 ways ( one of the best rendition in town )
- Chinese Crepe wrapped Crispy Skin & Meat with Hoisin Sauce and Condiments.
- Lettuce Wrap with Sauteed Minced Duck Meat and Crunchy Vegetables.

) Wild BC Spot Prawns 2 ways
- Crispy & Aromatic Wok Fried Heads-on Butterfly Prawns with Garlic Spicy Salt Gratinee
- Sauteed Whole Heads-on Prawns with Maggi Sauce a la O 'Mei.

) Fried BC Jumbo Rock Oysters with Peppered Honey Glaze, sauteed Broccoli

) Stirred fry Angus Beef Tenderloin Cubes with Special House BBQ Sauce and Crunchy Caramelized Walnuts.

) Deep fried Baby Pork Spare-Ribs with Chinese Preserved Olive Tapenade in crispy Taro Bird's nest.

) Poached Whole Free Range Chicken with Chinese Rose Essence Wine Infused Premium Top Soya Sauce.

) Fried Rice with Diced BBQ Pork, Pineapple and Liquor Soaked Raisin.

) Desserts

) Complimentary Chinese Tea

Cost: Approx.,$50 per person, all inclusive of Food, Tax and Gratuities ( to be confirmed a week before ).

A 'pay-as-you-go' cash bar for beverages will be offered. Also, I have negotiated a $5 per bottle BYOB corkage fee for those who would like to bring along a bottle of their cellar treasure! ( The restaurant is the only Chinese Restaurant in town that uses 'Riedel' Stem ware! )
