OK, I didn't see this listed earlier so, I'm going to ask all of my Chowhound friends:
What is essential for a proper/good/well-equiped/well-stocked bar?
- Gin, obviously.
- At least one shaker. We have two: a full size one, and a small one dubbed "Baby's first shaker" that can mix a single drink or two small drinks in it.
- Dry vermouth
- Vermouth rosso (I think I spelled that right)
- A decent bar recipe book or two. I have the little red "American Bar" book, any other suggestions?
- Rose's Lime Juice
- A decent blender
I have Rose's Grenadine but it's going to waste as it seems so few drinks use it. That and it's not the greatest tasting stuff.
So what do you have in yours? What should I have in mine? Looking more for the essentials than the stuff that will more than likely collect dust.
