Problem with fridge/freezer--any advice?

We've lived in an apartment the last two years, the landlord says the fridge (a frigadaire) is only about 5 years old. The problem is EVERYTHING i put in there gets freezer burned, no matter how I package it (I've had good results with the vacuum sealer, but I can't use that for everything). The stuff isn't even in there that long, less than a week, and there's freezer burn. I've lived in several places and have never had an issue like this. Any advice, or should I just suck it up and buy a new freezer?
