I'm taking my husband, 4-year-old daughter and 17-year-old niece to see "The Litttle Mermaid" next Wednesday.
I'd like to have a fun and delicious pre-theater dinner at someplace unique and memorable enough to make for fun stories to bring back to Akron, N.Y., for my niece.
I was thinking of Ruby Foo's. Does anyone have a better suggestion? I'd like something adventurous and fun, but nothing so uptight that my preschooler wouldn't feel comfortable.
I figure we want to be close to the 46th and Broadway.
Also: I know this isn't food-related, but do you absolutely recommend against driving in from Westchester? I am comfortable driving in the city, but have mainly done it on the weekend or directly to the Natural History Museum or similar. I am tempted so that we can have a quick ride home instead of schlepping to the Metro-North after the show. There are several garages in the vicinity, but is this too mad a scheme?
