My husband and I will be in NY next weekend, and plan to top it off by watching the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. (We will be in costume as middle-aged midwesterners -- underneath we're twenty-something hipsters, of course!)
We're expecting every place in the immediate Village area to be insanely busy, plus it always seems to be hard to find places serving during the 4PM to 6PM time frame.
We haven't specifically planned what else we'll be doing that day, so anyplace within a half-hour of walking/subway would be within our range of consideration.
We'll be eating at small ethnic places pre-theatre the other nights we're here, plus grazing the Brooklyn Flea and doing a food cart walking tour, so I'd like something a bit fancier but still not over-the-top. We like most cuisines, but try to avoid seafood-centric places due to my shellfish allergy.
Any thoughts? (We'd also appreciate suggestions on where the best places to watch might be, if that's not too off-topic.)
