Restaurants & Bars 1

Praise for 2 Amy's

I was expecting to be dissapointed. So often I am with places that are so highly touted. Had an amazing dinner.

I am bothered by the fact that they keep lots of food prep items on the bar, completely exposed. Really kind of gross and I question the length of time some of them are allowed to sit there, unrefrigerated and only inches from the mouths and noses of every patron who sits at the bar. I watched too as these items were handled by staff in ways that could have been a part of a cross contamination video of "don'ts".

But after that, it all got better. The appetizers were simple but delicious. The service was kind and helpful. The pizza was as delicious as everyone here in Washington claims it is. The red sauce was rather thin but very tasty. The bread was the best we've had in DC so far. Had a great bottle of wine.

Dessert was their failing. Not very good at all. Possibly the worst canoli I've ever had and the cookies weren't worth getting again.

Had a really nice time and will definately be back.
