Will be meeting some out-of-town friends for a drink after the theater this evening and am seeking a wine bar that serves good food (tapas-style would be nice). The joint should have pleasant ambiance, allowing guests to hear their table-mate's conversation (ie, not deafeningly loud), reasonably priced (a selection of $10 wines by the glass would sure be nice) and not too crowded (ie, can we reasonably assume to get a table for four at 10 PM). Hell's Kitchen and midtown west location. Have heard about Nizza and Riposo 46, as well as Xai Xai and Caselulla. Would appreciate chowhounds' input on this important issue.
