Okay, I need help from Portlanders. I grew up in Portland and worked in the NW Industrial area on Yeon Ave back in the early 80's. For lunch a bunch of us would often go to a casual but popular spot on Yeon Ave. I am going crazy trying to remember the name of it! It was owned by a young man named Scott and I think the restaurant/pub started with "Mc____" presumably Scott's last name. I went there regularly for about 5 years before moving out of state. Lately I've become obsessed with finding information about the place and most importantly for their BEER BREAD recipe. We would often have soup of the day, chili, or a salad and they were always served with a thick slice of their beer bread - a couple of fresh loaves were always sitting on this wooden board and they would slice off a thick chunk and drop in on your plate. So yummy! I'm pretty sure the place closed later in the 80's but if anyone remembers or had family that worked in that are back then - I would love some help! Thanks, foodies!
