I just got this great little Zojirushi rice cooker for my birthday. An interesting feature is the setting for porridge, which the instruction booklet makes no mention of. The idea of setting the thing to have warm porridge waiting for me when I wake up is amusing. I was wondering what proportions of water and rice would work for this? And could you add bits of things congee-style or should you do this after it has already cooked? I'm a total rice cooker novice so any advice is welcome.
