Another porcelain coated dutch oven question

unfrogettable | Feb 12, 2010 10:11 AM

I was at Marshalls last night and found a 5qt. round porcelain coated dutch oven (straight sides), in a strange off brick-reddish color, with a "brushed" silver metal knob. The interior was off-white almost beige in color. The lid had its own little flat "handles" and it was marked "made in France" in raised letters (on the inside) and also had little wavy raised lines (condensation spikes?) and the inside bottom of the pot had small pea-sized circular indentations all over it. There was a tiny chip on the inside up near the rim of the pot. There was no indication of a manufacturer. Does anyone have any idea what make it might be? It caught my eye due to it saying "made in France" as well as a $39.99 price tag. The other option was a Berndes (made in China) pot for $35 at Ross. I do own an oval Staub (and my trusty plain 'ole cast iron Lodge) but I wanted a smaller round pot to make no-knead bread and was on the lookout for a bargain pot in which to just make bread. What do you think??
