Pomegranate Molasses Butter Cake, The New York Times Cooking Recipe

As NYT continues to move their Dining & Wine section (now called FOOD) to the NYT Cooking digital pages, I've been looking for holiday recipes to wow my family and friends. The only posts I've noted using pomegranate molasses here have been to find a suitable substitute or in a savory dish. I enjoy savory dishes using the molasses and I have no trouble finding bottles at Indian and Egyptian markets near me.

I baked this super simple, lovely butter cake last night and had a slice this morning. It's wonderful. The light glaze and candied walnuts just push my sweet tooth enough without killing the cake and the flavor of the molasses does add a special something. Festive and recommended.
