Pluma Bakery near Union Market

The pastries here look divine and it was a hard decision on what to choose. I wanted one or two of everything, with some items being difficult to find elsewhere.

I finally settled on two croissants: one pistachio and one plain. I also went for a slice of quiche and one of Basque cheescake.

The croissant filled with a thick pistachio cream was heavenly. Five stars. The plain croissant was an excellent version, airy and buttery.

The quiche was more egg than cheese, which is a plus for me, but otherwise uninteresting. Basque cheesecake was a first for me. I tend to avoid cheesecakes for their heaviness, but this was as light as a feather. But also uninteresting.

Other items that caught my eye were a very tall bread pudding, savory croissants, and a ricotta torta. Next time.
