Plugging Veggie Planet

Dudes, I just won't put up with any more excuses.

Those Chowhounds who live in Cambridge, particularly those in the Harvard Square area, and I know there are several, must go to Veggie Planet straightaway. And those who live elsewhere must follow in turn.

I went there, again, tonight, and their stuff, it's just some incredible food. If you haven't caught the news yet -- Veggie Planet, in Club Passim, in Harvard Square, in this little alleyway, across the way from Border. Mostly serves pizzas. Some salads and other healthful things.

Pizzas, all individual (though could be split, I suppose...), all made to order, have some bizarre toppings that just...WORK. The butternut squash/caramelized onion/goat cheese one is sensational, as is the portobello redhead (seared portobellos, red pepper almond sauce, browned onions, feta), as is the boring old Margherita. Actually, it's the best boring old Margherita I've had anywhere, except for Naples, and that was Naples. The pizza dough is crisp, charred, yeasty, reeeaal thin, just light and incredible. There's also this weird tofu topping that the use as a cheese substitute for vegans, and I ain't even a vegetarian, and I tried it, and it's very herb-acious and wonderful.

Plus, they're young, and hip, and environmentally conscious, and they donate to charity, and have cookbooks on the wall to look at, and invite patrons to create a pizza of their own (winner gets...a free pizza? I forget...), and you can listen to folk music.

What a great way to eat. Please go!!
