Visited this very chow-worthy dive again this Sunday and was very, very sated and happy. This is a Laotian place on 8th Ave (E.21st) in Oakland.

Fave dish was an appetizer called "Nam Kaow"- described in English as "Fried Rice Ball Salad", which doesn't begin to explain the dish. It seems like bits of crispy rice, lime and pork and other flavorings that you roll in lettuce leaves with cilantro and fresh mint. Salty, crispy, sour, pungent, a little sweet, and refreshing. YUM.

We also had an excellent rendition of Thai BBQ chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice, the chicken was really succulent and aromatic and the salad very fresh and multi-layered flavor. Also had a fantastic fried catfish curry.
