Pls. help a vegetarian find good Chinese seafood for her visiting meat-eating mom!

Lisa | May 24, 200604:03 PM

My mother is visiting from the East Coast and is looking forward to the authentic Chinese restaurants that L.A. has to offer. But, I'm a vegetarian and haven't sampled a lot of the places I have seen and heard about.

Any good suggestions for authentic Chinese seafood in Westside/Santa Monica? Are places like Jin Jiang and VIP worth checking out or do we really need to head to Chinatown or Monterey Park/Alhambra? Any not-to-be-missed places out there? We will almost certainly try Empress Pavillion and maybe NBC for dim sum, but would love to hear recommendations for dinner, especially in West L.A.

Thanks in advance!
