Plano/Richardson: Ethnic Eats - N.O. hound wants your recommendations!

Isabella | Oct 26, 200504:01 PM     10

Hi there!

Well folks, I am now in Dallas, Richardson proper & I hear that the ethnic food in Richardson & Plano is vey good!

But with my very limited budget for meals out (Since I have been here, I cannot believe I can count the number of restaurant meals I have had on 2 fingers & Luby's was one of them), what I really need is all of the legwork you chowhounds have done.

Tell me what was really great! I love Indian (north is my favorite), Middle Eastern, Mexican, Vietnamese, Dim Sum(NO MSG please, I am allergic!). I have an adventuresome palate and willing to try new things other than what I mentioned.

I am willing to venture into Dallas, of course, but if you have some recs for Richardson & Plano, that would be great.

I would also love to have some great SOUL FOOD! I realize that would probably be in Dallas. If it is a sketchy neighborhood, please mention that & how bad. Remember I am from N.O. and used to dives! But I also want to live!

Thanks for all your help, yall are the best!

Isabella

p.s. come & visit us in New Orleans once we get things cleaned up!
