Help us plan our Paris trip food-wise

candyapple13 | Jan 27, 201505:58 PM     5

My husband and I are going to Paris for 4 days and would love some recommendations on where to eat. We live & eat in NYC, late 30s, traveling without our small children. We are well-traveled but neither of us knows Paris well. We are not that focused on sights. Honestly want to eat great food, shop & wander, spa, enjoy some nightlife, etc. We are staying in the 1st, at Le Meurice but expect to frequent other areas in the evening.

We do not require any high French meals, mostly interested in modern bistro-like places. Le Dome and Au Passage and Frenchie are on the list. Any feedback? I would love to know some favorite bakeries and cafés for macarons, croissants, chocolate and tea. (Though I live in nyc so have been to Laduree and Maison du Chocolat. Love them but will the original be much different?) French onion soup is a favorite dish as is escargot. We have been to Au Pied du Cochon in Montreal -- is it also a must-do in Paris? Am open to suggestions, we will be checking out several neighborhoods so happy to hear about favorites.
