Pizzicotto and John O'Groats (review)-they were great!

Thanks hounds! My friends were impressed! There were 3 of us ladies in town for the UCLA Festival of Books.
We showed up at Pizzicotto around 7:30 with no reservation. We were told we could have a table right now but outside if we wanted it (no liquor served outside which was fine)or wait an hour for an inside table. We took the outside table-the weather was fine for it. We had servers all over us-with water, bread
(to die for with the olive oil!) etc. We had the vegetable lasagne, a seafood and risotto dish, and the
gnocci bolanese. I had an arugula salad also. We each had coffee. Each dish was outstanding!!! My friends could not believe how good the food was! (thank you, thank you!) Our service went down a bit after we had the food (mainly getting more coffee) but it did not bother us too much. Otherwise, everyone was very nice and the food terrific! Our bill was $59.00 before tip.

We had breakfast at John O'Groats on Sunday morning.
We had about a 20-30 min. wait to get in but there is coffee for you while you wait which is great!
We had pumpkin pancankes, a shitake mushroom omlet,
and macadamia nut and mango panacakes-wow! We are not used to such great breakfast ideas!! Everything was wonderful-BUT-the shitake mushroom omlet was the winner! Wow!! It was delicious!! Its a cute place with great food-can't wait to go for dinner sometime!
(Can't remember how much!)

Would love to take my husband to both of these restaurants next time!
Thanks again!
