Pizza Town in Park Slope

This pizzaria, on Sterling and Fifth in the Slope, attracted my attention. It's the only pizzaria in sapphotown that doesn't deliver. The owner, a serious-looking Italian guy, is dead-set against it. I still don't understand why; something about control. Anyway, I figure that a guy who's willing to give up business for any reason will probably make pretty good food. The pizza, though, isn't really that great. But the other night I ordered the Sicillian baked ziti, an item on some menus but not others. (I knew the eggplant was good from the eggplant rolls.) It took a good half hour to get it, but it's immense, and delicious! The ziti and the eggplant are solidly baked together, with some ricotta giving it moisture, and only a surface topping of mozzarella. (The mutz cap also drops a lot of oil for the ziti to absorb.) Really good...I'm going to try some of the other non-pizza specialties tomorrow.
