Pizza stone in an electric oven

I haven't used an electric oven in probably 20 years and those things baffle me. I'll be needing to use one soon and don't know if I need to make any adjustments to my usual procedure with a pizza stone. With my gas oven I generally put the stone on the oven rack and preheat at desired temperature for 1 hour. Do I need to do anything differently for electric?
