this is a weird dual menu place. nowhere near being fusion since i doubt there is an ingredient ('cept salt, pepper onions, garlic and, if we're lucky, tomatoes) they might share. it's a tiny place called famous pita & pizza around the corner from the hospital for joint diseases (on 18th street). the name on the take-out menu is "famous pita & pizza plus delicious indian food".
the crust on the pizzas i saw looked leaden and unappetizingly pale but i'm still interested in trying the bombay biryani. they serve only the chicken in the store, but for take-out there are more biryani choices. and the menu has a number of other south-asian dishes, including rice puding [sic]("rice cooked with sugar and some mild indian spices (sweet in taste)"). the rest of menu is similarly (entertainingly) overbearing.
i'm going to check it out as soon as i get a chance...
