Pittsburgh recs for big family dinner ?

Leepo | Jun 18, 2005 10:15 PM

We're coming back to Pittsburgh for a family get-together and need a place for dinner. It'll be 10-12 of us, we'd prefer someplace where we'll be able to talk (some of the family is a bit hard of hearing) and visit (so maybe a private room?) and of course Chowhound-worthy food.

So far we've checked out websites for Enrico's in Shadyside and Lidia's in the Strip, were considering Eleven or Soba but they might be a bit too pricey.

We're staying in Shadyside but will of course have a car.

Any thoughts on the choices so far or other recommendations?

Last time we were in town we had drinks at a small place on Ellsworth that had just opened - nice little bar with snack-type foods and patio in the back. Anyone know what if it's still there and what it's called? It was a great post-family dinner spot for my wife and I.

Thanks all!
