PINTXO PINCHO: In case you are wondering, it is pronounced "pin-toh pin-choh"
A fun & lively small bar in downtown Woburn, with excellent service and paintings by one of the owners on the wall (his wall-sized rendition of Picasso's Guernica is beautiful!).
Although some of the reviews are rather breathless, I guess it's great for Woburn (a place with an improving restaurant scene...check out Sam's Kitchen for byob Italian, and the famous Gene's is just down the block). A nice spot if you are in the area; might even be worth a drive if you haven't been here before.
Good wines in nice glasses and dozens of different tapas to choose from ("pintxo" or "pincho", depending on the language, are technically tapas-like single-serving bites with a toothpick or pintxo holding them to a slice of bread). Shrimp in pil pil or garlic, house-made chorizo, lamb kebab, patatas bravas (spicy) were tasty, and the octopus was meltingly tender. Plenty of complementary bread to sop up the juices. They also have several larger paella, but we didn't try any.
We sat at the bar and enjoyed the lovely accent of our beautiful server (although be careful, or you may order eggplant and get sirloin...I guess my Spanish pronunciation is not so good!).
No reservations for less than 4 people, but we were lucky to find seating at the bar at 6:30PM on a Sunday. Easy free parking in the large lot behind the building.
