Help us pick our wedding day dinner destination in SF!

Clarissa | Jul 6, 200305:47 PM     3

We're getting married in Japantown in late August and staying overnight for a couple of nights (we live in the south East Bay).

Naturally, we love Japantown's restaurants, but we'd like to go somewhere *really* special for dinner that evening. Are there any extraordinary restaurants near there? (including anything special/romantic that we might not know about in Japantown itself)

Alternatively, is there another place in SF that you would like to recommend, that would be a straightforward drive with parking/nearby garage? (or we could take a taxi ...) We'll still be in our wedding clothes, so it would be a great time to go somewhere elegant. Price isn't exactly "no object," but an expensive restaurant with fabulous food would be quite doable.

I can't eat shellfish and we don't drink alcohol, so great seafood or winelists don't help. A place that's not terribly noisy would be good, too. And delicious desserts would be a major bonus.

Thank you for any suggestions!
