On Tuesday night and friend and I had a decidedly mediocre dinner at Piccolo Paradiso. In fact, the desserts were less than mediocre--a lemon mousse with no character and bad flavor and then, in a vain attempt to redeeem the situation, an all-but inedible plate of canned cookies.
However, that is not my reason for posting, which is the prices. The prices, it seems to me, for everything--the salads (mostly $10-11) entrees (mostly mid $20s), and desserts ($8 and 8.50)--were the same or higher than they would be at restaurants with far better cooking like Osteria Angelini and Lucques. My friend had been at Tanino's last week and thought the same thing. Is this a trend everywhere? Just at the Drago family places?
