StuCazzo keeps recommending this New York style pizza restaurant, and I finally managed to try it today. I had a very good experience. I ordered a large pie to go, half sausage, half bellpepper ($13.78 including tax). The three people working out front all seemed to be part of the family that owns the place (given away by their strong east coast accent). Everyone working there was friendly. I was given a little styrofoam cup to get some soda while I waited for my order.
After sitting at the bar a while, I noticed a nice espresso machine with LavAzza espresso and cappuccino mugs on top, and I remembered Stu had mentioned they made a good espresso. I ordered a shot, was comp'd, made properly with crema and served in the appropriate espresso cup. Delicious.
When I finally opened the pizza, back home, I was delighted to see that they were generous with toppings. Bellpeppers were three colors (yellow, red, green); sausage was high quality. The pizza looked pretty oily, and I was worried it would taste too greasy, but this turned out not to be a problem. Both toppings were fresh and flavorful; the peppers were very sweet and ripe. The pizza was a bit uneven, however: on the sausage side, the crust was perfect, slightly crisp, and on the pepper side a couple pieces were quite soft and "floppy." No big deal (a common side effect of ordering a split pizza), but I think next time I'll get just sausage.
