We just returned from our first visit to the one on 16th Street and Roosevelt. We were blown away by the fantastic offerings! It is a market with in-house restaurant for take-out or eat-in (long picnic style tables.) The market offers wonderful fresh fish of all kinds, a fabulous array of produce and unique grocery items on all the aisles. The restaurant/cafe is amazing. We had mini tacos made with fresh corn torillas and wonderful carne asada, moist and flavorful. The carnitas was moist and crispy pork. No globs of yellow cheese and mounds of lettuce, just straightforward tender meat with onions and fresh cilantro. They have a vast menu and my ability to read Spanish is nil, but one can decipher burritos, beans, rice, fish dishes, etc. All the employees were very helpful. We bought housemade butter flour tortillas to bring home and enjoy tonight. I'm just glad it's not around the corner from us! It brought back memories of some of our Mexico trips and we'll definitely go back. I will get the meats by the pound and ask friends over for a make-your-own taco night!
