pha le steakhouse

Since there is no review for this restaurant yet, I thought I'd give everyone the low down. My brother saw the ad for this place in the newspaper..advertising authentic vietnamese cusine so he dragged the whole family there.

Went there for dinner and suprise suprise..they don't serve vietnamese food at night. I think everyone in my family asked the waitress at least once...fearing there was some miscommunication, but nope. She confirmed over and over that there was no vietnamese food at night.

Also, no steak! Hmm...unless there was a seperate menu...didn't really ask about that. The menu we received only showed the standard bubble tea drinks and standard chinese fare. They also had a checklist for sushi/sashimi. We tried the chinese food...forgot what we ordered....since the dinner itself was forgettable. Also ordered 6 maki rolls, which also sucked. The quality is a tad worse then Gyuhama...and if you're been to Gyuhama lately then you would understand how bad it is.

The only thing that stood out were the scallion pancakes and spring rolls..both appetizers. In other words this place sucked.

As for the decor...looks decent. Lots of wood. They also have an open kitchen, well sorta. There is a huge window that shows everything that goes on in the kitchen...including a chef picking his nose. Yes, you heard correctly...We all witnessed a chef picking his nose. Fortunately for us, we had already finished our dinner.

Would we ever go back? Never.
