I visited Petit Robert for the 1st time last evening. We were there from approx. 7-9:15 and the place remained pretty packed for the entire time...it may be the price point bringing in the crowds (no entrees over $20) but it certainly isn't the quality of the food. Probably the highlight of the meal was the very good bread served prior to the meals. I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops and it was so overly salted that I could not eat them. I promptly returned them and although the waitress apologized and offered to replace them, the Manager never once came over to the table to apologize or to inquire about the meals. Another curious thing about the scallops, I believe that in order to make it look like the meal was more substantial than it actually was, my suspicion is that the scallops were sliced horizontally thru the center so that the plate ended up with 5-6 scallops on the plate (really only 2 1/2 or 3). I believe that because the scallops were too thin to have been whole scallops. In any event, I found them to be inedible. Other less than stellar entrees were my daughter's Panko Crusted Pork Loin which was chewy and badly over-cooked with not much flavor and my wife's Seared Tilapia Almondine which was swimming in butter and very ordinary in taste. When the bill came we discovered that 2 meals had been removed (the scallops and the tilapia) but again no one ever came over to discuss this or our meals. I don't think I will be returning here.
