Got by at a fairly quiet lunchtime. Enjoyed an excellent pâté trio (especially liked the country pâté of chicken), the coffee and potato cream soup (odd and quite delicious), an okay Croque Monsieur (I found the bread ordinary), and a really good grilled sardine sandwich (a generous portion). Shared a tarte tatin with cardamon crème fraiche (lovely). With coffee and a modest bottle of red, about $20/head inclusive. That's my idea of bistro cooking, and the service was great. I'm anxious to see their second outlet in the South End (in the old Rouge space), where they'll be able to take advantage of a lot more space, a full liquor license, and a patio.
