Four of us went to Pepperoncini, the new place at Elm and Poplar in Conshyhocken, last night. We really liked it. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. On a Friday night it's best to ask for the room farthest away from the bar, which is a bit noisy (loudish music). Good food at fair prices. I had a $6.00 glass of shiraz which wasn't bad and a generous pour. My caesar salad was big and good and my half portion of rigatoni puttanesca was quite ample. It was the first time I had that dish that I could actually taste the anchovies (I love anchovies). Others at the table had veal sinatra (with crab), chicken parmesan and cavatelli pomodoro. They were very happy with their choices. The entrees all come with salads (except for the pasta half portions). We shared a plate of three small ricotta canolli (I suspect they come from the Italian Bakery in Conshohocken. Bill for the four of us was $76.00 before tip. Nice addition to the neighborhood. Oh, the thin crust pizza and the sandwiches that another poster mentioned are available at dinner too.
