Damn. The three pepper chicken from Szechuan Tasty House is so frick-ass tasty that I may never be able to order anything besides it again (along w/the spicy dumplings, mind you). It was so delicious that it simultaneously reached forward and backward in time, making other meals Ive had elsewhere, older meals, and future meals more delicious. It sounds so innocuous on the menu. You think, well, maybe its 3 different colors of bell peppers or something. No way dude.
The spice is so robust, so complex, and so downright ferocious that I worry my unborn children might have been scalded. Boy will Mrs. Joypirate be surprised when they come out of the womb in asbestos suits.
Ive got a copy of the Chinese language menu and the English menu. The girl who usually works the register circled the crossovers for me (dishes that appeared on both), which included the three pepper chicken. Also, she indicated it was one likely to be seasoned by my dark master the Sichuan Peppercorn.
Sliced hot peppers of varying hotness-es with varying amounts of pith and seed still left inside to mock you into submission, thin slices of scallions (whites only), a crispness built of spice unevenly coats the chicken bits. This crispness haunts me. Haunts me utterly.
Ok, cant think of any more hyperboles, but get this chicken, if you like spice, and things that are delicious.
