Several people have occasionally asked about places to eat on PEI. I just got back from a week's vacation and can completely reccomend Dalvay by the Sea and the Inn at Bay Fortune. Both have been featured in cooking mags, and both were excellent, relaxed, fine dining.
As for more chowhound-y places--I just have to admit it--I tried the McLobster. The McDonald's in Charlottetown has lobster rolls. You can even get a meal deal with a Coke and fries. The very nice boy at the tourist center blanched when I asked how to get there, but he rallied and pulled out a map. As for the roll--not bad, not bad at all. You can't do much to screw up lobster, celery and mayo on a bun; it was cool, tasty and refreshing. I'm sure there are better ones on the island, but this one made a great picture.
