Pearls in OKC

A while ago Mike posted about a good meal to be had at Pearls in Tulsa. I told him there were other Pearls in OKC but that I'd only been to the original one. I tried two others in the past three weeks. It is a local chain, I think there are five restaurants in all, the three I mention and Trapper's Fish Camp.

I had lunch at the newest OKC Pearls, on the shore of lake Hefner. (In the overlarge building that was built for ex coach Barry Switzer's ill fated sports bar/fine dining combo). It was very good and had a great view, including outdoor dining on the lake side. We had intended to eat next door at the Red Rock Canyon Grill but it is strangely closed for lunch on Saturday.

This weekend I tried the even more casual (offtrack betting upstairs) Pearl's Crabtown in Bricktown OKC with a friend visiting from Seattle who was craving seafood, and we had a delicious meal. Her mom had chowder, she had shrimp and I had a little casserole of crab, 2 types of shrimp and a well seasoned cream sauce on a bed of not too much rice. It was so good I thought about it all day. We also shared an appetizer of lightly breaded and fried crab leg meat. We were all very happy.
