Pear Sorbet for Sonia

In what is (unfortunately) becoming something of a routine, on my way into the office this fine Saturday, I stopped at Picholine to get some lunch to go. (Working over the holiday weekend is bad enough -- working hungrily crosses the line into unacceptable). Looking around the shop while waiting for my chicken salad sandwich, I noticed that they have a freezer full of exotic ice creams and sorbets from Out of a Flower, a company I've seen profiled on FoodTV. (Link below). Anyway, one of the flavors they stock is Pear Cinnamon Basil , which made me think of Sonia's inquiry about pear sorbet a couple of months back. Don't know if this is any good -- these types eclectic flavor combinations can be great, but can also sometimes be (at least to my taste) downright awful. Then again, maybe Sonia's bought herself an ice cream maker and is by now well beyond mere store-bought confections.
